What Happens at Celebrate
Recovery?
-
On Fridays at 6:15 p.m., the large group combines worship, recovery centered teaching using the 8 Recovery Principles or 12 Steps, and personal testimonies of a changed life.
Participants are encouraged to invite family and friends to the Monthly Potluck, which meets the First Friday of the month at 5:30 p.m., which provides an opportunity for great group fellowship.
• 70% of the people who come to CR’s across the nation come for something other than alcohol or drug dependency.
• 50% of all adults will experience some form of mental health issue in their lives.
• Anxiety is MOST common, affecting 40 million U.S. adults.
-
Just following large group worship we break into separate gender and issue specific groups where each person is safe to share their struggles and victories with others who share their similar hurts, hang-ups and habits.
In a safe environment, created through the repetition and practice of 5 Small Group Guidelines, participants are given the opportunity to vocalize personal experiences in a place of support where they experience no shame, no blame and no one attempting to fix them or the problem.

It has been said that “you go to a meeting to feel better, but you work the steps to get better.”
For those who desire to see real and lasting change begin to happen can join a Step Study group. Step Studies are a safe place to work through the Jesus-centered 12 Steps in a gender specific group.
For the believer, CR is just in-depth discipleship. There is a 6-month to one-year group commitment, based on group size, which meets on a different night of the week from Large Group Worship and Open Share. It’s a place where the “why” behind addictions and behavior can finally be uncovered and freedom can be found.
